Syros - A mosaic of neoclassical mansions, of bourgeois and intellectuals, of “tarsanas”, the traditional shipyards, and derricks; a miniature of the Scala Opera House, housing the local theater, a town hall resembling a palace, skillful shipwrights, and heaps of rose flavoured “loukoumi” (Oriental delights), all inlaid in unique harmony.
PLOES BOUTIQUE HOTEL is a traditional A’ class hotel. Housed in an imposing, two-wing neoclassical mansion, 150 years old. From the 19th century to now days, was mainly inhabited by the families of Negreponte, Samios and Lorentzos.
The last renovation was completed at the end of 20th century by the sisters Maria and Kalliope Giatrakos. This renovation has highlighted the building as the best neoclassical heritage example in Syros.
In 2008 the Lorentzos family converted the mansion into a hotel of 8 rooms, including one suite with private spa.
