MuMu organic is an Ethical label from Greece, producing high quality women’s clothes. Founded in the beautiful Cyclades islands in 2009 by designer Athena Bentila and artist Roland Wakker, MuMu organic is creating stylish and timeless handmade womenswear, produced locally in Greece.

MuMu organic mainly uses certified organic cotton and other sustainable fabrics and through responsible sourcing supports Fair Trade producers in developing countries, as well as providing local employment in Greece.

MuMu organic’s beautiful designs are inspired by the breathtaking and versatile natural environment in the Greek islands as well as bearing in mind the needs of a modern woman. The collections feature designs that are contemporary, urban and powerful,while they are feminine, comfortable and sexy. The designs have charming details and they emphasize on the silhouette and enlighten the female body.

ABOUT THE DESIGNER

Athena Bentila is the designer of MuMu organic, she designs and produces the lovely MuMu organic clothing. She always had an interest in fashion, cinema and the Arts and has been designing her own clothes from a very young age.

She is a self-taught fashion designer and pattern maker who studied translation. Speaks Greek, English and Dutch. Since 2009, when MuMu organic was founded, Athena has been designing and producing the ethical MuMu organic clothing, which is sold through various boutiques and e-shops in Greece and abroad.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

MuMu organic is dedicated to creating beautiful and ethical clothes of high quality.

MuMu organic only uses “eco-fabrics” and through responsible sourcing supports Fair Trade producers in developing countries, as well as providing local employment in Greece.

The organic cotton fabrics are 100% certified with Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) as well as 100% Fair Trade and they are imported from a UK company which works directly with communities in India. Other natural fabrics such as linen,wool,bamboo are also imported from companies in Germany, Italy and the Nederlands.

MuMu organic emphasizes on fabrics and tailoring of high quality as well as on modern and sharp design.

MuMu organic’s designer Athena Bentila says, “Our aim is to provide high fashion from sustainable materials and to educate consumers about the benefits of organic cotton. By supporting Fair Trade producers and organic farmers, we are helping make the fashion industry more sustainable, moving from throwaway fashions to beautiful, timeless and long-lasting pieces. We also support Fair Trade producers to ensure a safe, healthy, non-abusive, non-discriminatory environment with living wages for textile workers”.
