The jeweller Paraskevi Kokolaki was born and raised in Thessaloniki. She studied vitraux and photography and is currently researching European Civilization in the Open University of Greece. She studied design and production of hand made and industrial jewellery in MOKUME College of Thessaloniki, Greece. In the course of her studies, she additionally attended enamel workshops.
In 2008 she sets up “Yiandes” her own space, atelier and shop in the centre of town. Starting off by precisely designing each and every piece she conceives, Paraskevi presents us with unique creations with a characteristic feature: lines and curves. She works with silver and gold which are everlasting materials; ephemeral materials never cease to fascinate her, though, as she constantly experiments with paper, fabrics, seeds, resin and so on. She is inspired by contemporary industrial and architectural design, textiles, fibres, old lace, hand made paper, fairy tales, travels, images, photographs, memories. Paraskevi’s main ambition through her art is to evoke emotions, trigger the imagination and yarn stories…
