Nopi Romanidou Managing director Ally/Head organizer DoitEco, answers in 10 questions.
-Tell me more about this magnificent project called ''DoitEco''.
-First of all, thank you for this warm welcome. I am very glad and proud that DoitEco Project, has gained such an acceptance. DoitEco Project is about a series of activities, culminating in the Eco Fashion Show, in which distinguished Greek fashion designers will create clothes from eco-friendly materials and at the same time designers known worldwide will participate in this event. It will be held at Technopolis, Gkazi on the 14th of January. So, save the date and stay tuned!
-Do you think that Greece has room for new ideas, designers, and hope?
-If I didn’t believe this I wouldn’t have done anything of what I am doing right now. Yes, I am definitely positive and optimistic, as a person, first of all. I do believe that there is space for new designers, new innovative ideas and thinking unless we believe in ourselves and become more extroverts from an economic perspective. Greece remains a small market but has brilliant young people who act and have many yet to offer.
-What more do you except from ''Doiteco''?
-DoitEco Project is quite innovative and new for me, as an entrepreneur and the Greek people too. As far as my expectations, I want people to learn about it, get inspired and try to use more eco-friendly solutions in their daily life. I want to show that ecology is a matter of perspective, is matter of changing our mentality and is a decision far away! We can do it, we can live sustainably. It is as easy as picking our clothes and it is as hard as our flexibility to change.
-You are a shinning person, so i guess you could tell us some places to eat, or to have a cosy time..places you prefer.
-I enjoy being in the centre of Athens and eating at the Tudor Hall restaurant where I can relax and taste the delicious plates with the awesome view of Acropolis.
-Is ecology a trend, or not?
-I firmly believe that ecology is a way of living and probably the only way! We are part of nature and should live accordingly and in harmony with her. To be honest with you,i dont like to work with designers who are not so professionals in this time of crisis, i dont give an excuse.
-Do you think that in Greece we have to ''work''more and ''speak less''?
Well, I believe that in Greece, we work a lot and speak a lot. I think that we should continue hard working and let our work speak itself. We should rethink of our priorities.
-Do you see ''light at the end of the tunnel''? Are you optimist ?
-I mentioned it from the beginning, I am an optimist person and I do believe that we can create new consequences and a better future. It will be hard and it might be painful, but is the only way for all of us. We should keep an eye on our good, creative, innovative side and let our bad side behind. We have no time to waste. We should keep looking and moving ahead.
-Your next plans will be...?
-My next plans are ( to relax for Christmas with my family! Haha!)
-Was there a moment that you regreted all this work and time , a moment that you told your self' 'now..what..and why..?
-I do not regret! Generally, I consider myself as a decisive person and happy to take risks. However, at times I wander if all this hard work and time I spend, is worthy. It is because it offers valuable experience and gets me closer to notable people.
-Your personal motto..
-My personal motto is “if your feet are on the ground your mind can reach the sky”............
