At  its beginning in 1977, the initial underlying concept of YRIA’s   design was to give contemporary form and function to one of Nature’s most intriguing commodities:  clay.  Our fundamental goal was to create beautiful utilitarian objects, simple forms and designs that speak not only to functionality, but also to the intimacy gained through the everyday use of a pot, a bowl, a cup and saucer, a plate.  We believed that the life of these “objects” made by hand became complete only when used and enjoyed by other hands. We  were striving to create work that lives not for the shelf, but for the soul .

To incorporate this idea in our shop, we began to envision what kind of environment our wares could best be displayed in that would complement their designs and suggest the ambiance of their future habitats. From this vision, YRIA has grown and expanded to what it is today, a venue for a lifestyle imbued with simple elegance and artful design and function. 

At our spacious  showroom and sales facility in the main Agora of Paroikia on the Cycladic  island of Paros, our clients can enjoy the experience of shopping  for not only our ceramic creations but a full range of home furnishings and accoutrements including unique personal gift  items and porcelain jewelry designed and crafted in our studio as well as unique products sourced around the globe . All offerings expressive of our lifestyle concept.  Customized orders are also welcomed, and we are available for personal interior design projects with consultation and collaboration.
