''A glimpse at a new series of 14 carats gold unique bracelets and rings, as well as the summer collection of necklaces and earrings.
The Witching Hour, which inspired this collection, refers to the time of the night associated with supernatural events. Sensed presences, apparitional experiences and energy flows are most common around 3 am. Creatures such as witches, demons and ghosts are thought to appear and to be at their most powerful, In folklore, when we refer to witchcraft, we let all of the magical practices we can think of being incorporated in this word, such as rituals to bring a desired outcome or making healing remedies.
Nowadays, invoking witchcraft is very symbolic: not only spiritually motivated but also socially and politically. It refers to resistance and feminism, to a new form of feminine power and sorority.
Thus, I invited artist Irini Karayannopoulou to create a unique wall installation as well as a limited edition artwork that will be available to purchase. Irini's eclectic work comprises painting, books, collage, drawings and film. Her gesture is both delicate and rough, she breaks the codes and her hybrid images question self-reflection as well as disappearance.
She is the co-founder of artist duo Extra-Conjugale and the co-founder of Twin Automat. She lives and works in Athens.
Her new artist book Les Poétiques Anonymes will be released by the end of the month, in collaboration with Cube Art Editions.
These jewel collages generate a series of encounters between precious, semi-precious and mundane materials creating poetic manipulations and many narrative possibilities.''
