THE CHURCH OF PANAGIA AKATHI IN SCHINOUSSA HOSTS ONE OF THE FEW ICONS FEATURING JESUS NOT SITTING BUT STANDING IN FRONT OF THE HOLY MOTHER. “AKATHI” IN GREEK MEANS “NOT SITTING”.

Akathi Suites is of 75 square meters in size. It consists of two bedrooms (including a master room), two bathrooms, and a living room with an adjoining kitchen area. There’s also a fireplace and a panoramic view of the village.

With faith and devotion to the traditions and legends of the island of hospitable Tinos, the three separate houses designed according to the style of the place with the arches, terraces, dry stone walls and the scent of xeric plants that surround them, such as oleanders, embraced by the white Aegean.

Through the countless of uttered “please” and “thank yous” that thousands of faithful devote to Our Lady we acquired the desire to dedicate the names of the houses to the Virgin Mothers of our place, always in the belief that she will protect these and, especially, the people within them.
